Lemontree Healthcare is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Food Service Cashier/Barista to join our food service team. The Food Service Cashier will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while accurately processing transactions and preparing coffee and espresso beverages. In this role, you will handle cash, credit cards, and other payment methods, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-out process, as well as crafting quality coffee drinks for customers. You will also help maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area and collaborate with other team members to ensure a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff warmly as they approach the cashier station and coffee bar.
- Provide prompt and friendly service during meal service, addressing any questions or concerns regarding menu items, coffee orders, or prices.
- Assist patients with meal and beverage options, dietary restrictions, or preferences as needed.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor while interacting with all individuals.
- Cash Handling:
- Accurately process customer transactions, including cash, credit cards, and digital payments.
- Provide correct change and receipts to customers in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper cash handling and balancing of the register at the start and end of each shift.
- Report any discrepancies in cash or transactions to the supervisor.
- Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, iced coffees, and teas.
- Operate and clean commercial coffee machines and equipment according to safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure the coffee station is well-stocked with ingredients (e.g., milk, syrups, cups, lids) and kept clean and organized throughout the day.
- Educate customers about coffee menu items and suggest options based on their preferences.
- Food Service Support:
- Assist in food prep or meal assembly when needed, particularly during busy periods.
- Ensure food and beverage displays are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization in the cashier station and dining area.
- Assist with restocking napkins, utensils, condiments, and other food service items.
- Inventory and Stocking:
- Ensure the food service area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies throughout the shift.
- Assist with inventory checks, including restocking or ordering items as needed.
- Report low-stock items to the Food Service Supervisor.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Follow the organization’s guidelines for handling food and beverages safely.
- Ensure the cashier station, dining area, and restrooms remain clean and organized.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure an efficient workflow.
- Assist other food service staff with tasks as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a cashier or barista preferred, especially in a healthcare or food service setting.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash and transactions accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles is a plus.

Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and moving around the cashier station and food service areas.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, especially when stocking or restocking items.
- Must be able to handle a moderate to fast-paced work environment.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a healthcare facility, interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
- May be required to work weekends, evenings, or holiday shifts, depending on the facility’s schedule.
