Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Automation Service Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building automation systems, project/service management and team leadership. This role is crucial in driving the success of our customer satisfaction goals and ensuring that each of our customers receives world-class service for their advanced technologies in building operations.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, direct, and control the service operations activities of the company. Communicate progress/status internally; create and execute improvement plans based on customer feedback.
• Advise management on operations planning including resource hiring, development and allocation, financial forecasting, monitoring and issue resolution planning.
• Manage revenue and gross margin to achieve monthly and annual business plans. Monitor project status and control job costs to maintain margins.
• Direct and supervise the development of service activities to insure customer commitments are met within the estimated dollars. Oversee supervision of all service and retrofit work and personnel on assigned jobs. Ensure schedules are maintained and work proceeds in accordance with agreement requirements and customer expectations. Determine resource needs (e.g. staffing, tools) and provide any corresponding documentation.
• Provide information to the service sales/account management team, including assistance for pricing and scope of work definition for service project opportunities.
• Maintain consistent communication with the Customer Service Account Managers to ensure that each Customer Service Account Manager is kept informed of the customers needs and our activities at each site.
• Communicate regularly with customers through all phases of the service work that we perform for them. Build and maintain an effective operations organization committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitability.
• Manage or advise on hiring, training/development, allocation, and performance assessment of personnel within area of responsibility.
• Ensure the proper implementation of all company policies, procedures, and productivity tools where applicable.
• Provide management of warranty related efforts for the company’s installed systems.
• Manage and maintain staffing levels to satisfy existing and future business requirements. Provide on-going staff management including training and performance reviews and other related issues.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
• Required education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Required experience: Five years of experience in the installation and maintenance of building technologies systems including at least two years of supervisory or management experience.
• Required travel: Minimal
• Other requirements:
o Strong understanding of financial reports and ability to implement cost controls.
o Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills in English.
o Excellent organizational skills: must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
o Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and be at least 21 years old.
o Must be able to work in the U.S. without a need for current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
• Preferred education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
