Summary
The Network Consultant provides expert consultation and management oversight across assigned specialist service lines or specialty domains within the physician network. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Networks, this role ensures accountability over service lines, supports strategic alignment, and partners closely with the Network Project Manager on key initiatives. The Network Consultant drives provider engagement, operational excellence, and performance outcomes through domain-specific expertise and project support.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with specialist physicians and practice leaders within assigned service lines to ensure alignment with quality, cost, and operational objectives.
- Maintain accountability for performance, engagement, and improvement metrics within your domains.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and liaison between specialist practices, the Network Project Manager, and leadership.
- Assist the Network Project Manager with project execution, including planning, data analysis, stakeholder communication, and change management.
- Identify trends, provide provider feedback, and recommend operational or clinical interventions.
- Support provider training, onboarding, and continuous education within your assigned lines.
- Monitor compliance with performance and contractual standards, escalating issues as needed.
- Contribute to service-line strategy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may lead cross-functional or project-based teams on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, Nursing, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in healthcare provider relations, network operations, consulting, or managed care environments.
- Domain expertise in specialist physician operations, service line performance, or value-based care models. Preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills; ability to engage effectively with specialist physicians and practice leaders.
- Analytical aptitude with ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Proficiency in delivering trainings, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
- Familiarity with provider contracting, credentialing, and performance tracking methodologies.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and independent working abilities.
- Adaptability and project management skills; ability to support dynamic, cross-functional initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), with exposure to healthcare reporting systems preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, project documentation, and healthcare policies. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver concise executive summaries and project presentations.
Reasoning Ability
Applies critical thinking and structured problem-solving to resolve complex network challenges, anticipate risks, and implement effective solutions..
Computer Skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana), and healthcare data systems. Working knowledge of SQL or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.

Physical Demands
