MDG has an exciting opportunity for an Account Strategist who will report directly to the President and work with the executive leadership team to support all client management, service delivery, and account strategy efforts across MDG's accounts nationally. This role is responsible for innovating and standardizing operational and communication processes, internally and externally, and supporting a talented team of media buyers and planners, account directors, and managers to deliver top-tier marketing solutions and service to clients. They should be strategic, disciplined, well-organized, process-oriented, an innovative thinker, and have a broad understanding of marketing services, digital / traditional advertising, organic and paid media, as well as analytics.
- Collaborate across the entire agency, partner with agency account directors and managers, and liaise with creative, digital technology, media, and analytics teams to create key insights and translate them into actionable integrated marketing programs.
- Play a key role in managing the coordination and communication of all advertising, marketing, and account development efforts nationally.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure cohesion across channels and deliver on strategy, deadlines, and budget management.
- Monitor performance and impact of all strategies to maximize effectiveness and proper client communication.
- Develop relationships with clients’ senior-level counterparts and jointly handle unfamiliar problems, situations, or escalations.
- Understand the client's marketing objectives and develop measurements for service, including ROI and other metrics as needed.
- Ensure clients' media and marketing needs are addressed and analyzed in order to develop an effective media strategy.
- Maintain awareness of new media, relevant industry and market trends; develop analyses and reports regarding those trends; and communicate internally and to clients appropriate action steps regarding those trends.
- Assist in developing and presenting quarterly and annual client reviews.
- Assist in establishing, negotiating, and managing client agreements with the agency.
- Oversees the overall profitability of accounts and manages scope creep.
- Attend and assist with new client business development meetings and strategic direction as needed.
- Assist in the development of staffing recommendations and resourcing.
- Lead new client onboarding alongside account management teams.
- Develop and oversee training and onboarding methodology for the account management team.
- Oversee development and presentation of account strategy and growth sessions.
- Work to develop effective policies, procedures, and processes to keep ahead of changing client needs and industry trends.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
- 15 years experience as an Account Strategist or similar leadership role in a full-service agency.
- A strong account management background, including past experience managing client accounts and supervising account teams.
- Willing to roll sleeves up and work alongside team members.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or relevant, equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership abilities and managerial experience as a disciplined team leader of teams larger than 10.
- Possess a thorough understanding of overall media planning and buying.
- Experience with healthcare services is preferred.
- Experienced marketing professional with hands-on integrated marketing experience for multi-location businesses.
- Working knowledge of campaign tracking and different attribution models, and data analysis.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently.
- Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and process-oriented.
- A strong sense of urgency and commitment to get the job done quickly and with high quality.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with people at all levels of an organization.
