We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Scale House Clerk in Arcadia, FL. In this role, you will operate a computerized scale system to weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles, accurately recording information such as vehicle type, license tags, and driver details.
Precise documentation is critical for billing, and you'll perform regular audits to maintain billing accuracy. The ideal candidate should have moderate computer proficiency and prior experience in trucking, data entry, and adhering to safety procedures in an industrial environment.
Compensation:
$16 - $18 hourly
Responsibilities:
Scale Operator Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weighs vehicles by means of an electronic scale connected to a computer to determine the weight of C& D Material
- Log information into a centralized database
- Calculate costs for drivers based on vehicle weight
- Maintain a safe, organized working environment
- Scale Clerk Requirements and Qualifications
- Makes appropriate decisions on applicable policies, rules, procedures, regulations, rates, hours of operations, and the customer information computer systems. Effectively execute all intermediate skills associated with customer service, including, but not limited to, answering and effectively satisfying all customer requests, inquiries, and complaints.

Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to operate an electric weighing scale and a computer console
- Ability to make routine arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and to prepare routine reports
- Skill in computer operations, including pertinent software applications and a specialized Customer Service system
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred
- Moderate computer proficiency
- Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment
- Basic math skills
- Experience with radio communication
Physical Requirements:
- Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, give directions, and other business interactions
- Hearing: Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals
- Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools
- Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg.
- Lifting: able to lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
- Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel
- Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time, delivering information
- Walking: Able to walk through the shop and other outside elements
