We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in cost accounting to lead our accounting operations and provide critical financial insights into production costs, inventory management, and profitability. This role is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance while serving as a key business partner to operations and leadership teams. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cost accounting within a manufacturing or product-driven environment, along with proven leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Manage and analyze cost accounting activities, including standard costing, overhead allocation, bill of materials (BOM), and variance analysis.
  • Partner with operations to monitor production costs, inventory valuation, and work-in-progress (WIP).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting methodologies to support decision-making and margin analysis.
  • Conduct financial analysis on manufacturing variances, cost drivers, and product profitability.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, particularly around cost structures and margins.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and audit requirements.
  • Prepare detailed financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the accounting team, promoting accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to strengthen reporting and efficiency.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant cost accounting exposure.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a product-based industry.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, complex formulas) and ERP/accounting systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
