Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:The Director of Programs reports to the Executive Director of Prevention Central and provides administrative and programmatic supervision to all staff assigned to his/her program areas of responsibility.
JOB LOCATION:Fort Lauderdale, FloridaRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:· Responsible for development, management, and evaluation of the Prevention Central's programs.· Design, develop and manage all aspects of program-related communications and campaigns (direct mail, email, newsletters, social media, give-days, employee-campaigns, etc.).· Develop, implement, and maintain best practice program policies.· Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and quality compliance agencies as they pertain to nonprofit organizations.· Further the visibility of the Prevention Central’s programs through representation on key community groups and creating content/delivering presentations on the Prevention Central's programs, activities, and areas of focus.· Oversee and align Prevention Central programs in support of Prevention Central's strategy.· Directly engage with organizations and community stakeholders.· Gather and disseminate relevant new/innovative methodologies, research and approaches aligned with Prevention Central goals and strategies and work with Prevention Central leadership to schedule in-services/learning opportunities for both Prevention Central staff and community partners.· Ensure Prevention Central leadership is abreast of pertinent information related to program performance, activities/engagements, and other information/events of interest Community Visibility.· Manage and maintain all agency case management software.· Oversee and implement effective outreach initiatives, build external relations, and initiate program expansion.· Work closely with partner organizations, and partners to enhance program design, implementation, monitoring and improvement.· Supervise program staff.· Be a team player with co-workers, Prevention Central Leadership and Administrative staff.· Meet or exceed annual program development goals.· Efficient and timely follow-up, report submission and follow through on deadlines and time sensitive materials.· Effectively communicate and correspond on behalf of Prevention Central.· Ensure adherence to Prevention Central C personnel policies and procedures.· Demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.· Develop and implement overall approach for acquiring new donors, growing annual giving, and increasingdonor retention for programs.· Willingness to travel to meet with programs throughout Florida, present throughout the community and other affiliated organizations, relevant events and conferences as a representative of Prevention Central.· Be a consistent demonstration of professional conduct for Prevention Central as a whole.* Additional duties as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Services, Psychology, Human Services or related field.· Three years minimum relevant experience in professional, non-profit youth and family services.· The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and be capable of working both independently and as a team member.· Excellent relationship skills and a proven record of follow through and attention to donor wants and needs.· Must be well organized, detail oriented, and accurate.· Proficient in new program implementation.· Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and, especially, good listening skills.· Politically and technologically savvy.· Knowledge of and skill in word processing, data entry, data analysis, as well as demonstrated computer aptitude and experience.· A Creative and Innovative Strategist.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:· Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with a solid knowledge of the rules of grammar and punctuation are essential.· Strong proficiency with computers, data base entry and with the full Microsoft Office suite, email, and internet.The ability to upload videos to Dropbox and use Video Conferencing Programs like Zoom, Teams, etc., is required. · Must be a self-starter, goal-driven and results oriented.· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.· Creative and innovative problem solver and conceptual thinker.· Proficient in Public Speaking and Presentations.· Must display professionalism in the day-to-day operations of the office, which includes response to feedback, direction, suggestions, accepting responsibility, working as a team player, volunteering when needed, andpromoting a cohesive working environment. · Must also display professionalism in communications and on-going working relationship with outside agencies and organizations.· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and information and apply appropriate judgment.· Passion for providing extraordinary customer service and work.· Team player with co-workers, Prevention Central Leadership and Administrative staff.Prevention Central is a 501 © (3), non-profit organization which was founded in 1993. Initially organized toaddress the issues of minority over representation in the juvenile justice system. Prevention Central has expanded to respond to issues of Family Reunification Services, Prevention, Emergency Food Pantry, Parenting and Neighborhood Empowerment. Since 1993, Prevention Central has focused on the needs of disadvantaged youth and families in the inner city of Fort Lauderdale and Broward County as a whole.
