Environmental / Asbestos Design Coordinator
Total Project Strategies, Inc. (TPS) – AECOM Miami Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) Program Management (PM) Support Services.
TPS, a sub-consultant to AECOM is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Environmental / Asbestos Design Coordinator as part of the M-DCPS AECOM Program Management Team. The selected candidate will be assigned to multiple tasks and projects and will be responsible to complete assignments from start to finish.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Project Management/ Field Supervisor with experience in Asbestos Survey, Abatement Oversight, for minimum (5) years of or a related field and two (2) years of design and contract document experience or Associates degree in related field.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in mold remediation oversight, indoor air quality surveying/testing.
· Demonstrate knowledge of Federal, State and local asbestos regulations.
· Good to strong analytical skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Possession of a valid FL Driver’s License
· Experience with education/contractors/vendors
Job Duties:
· Coordinate/oversee the activities of Asbestos Program Inspectors including to establish the scope of abatement work.
· Coordinate with outside consultants to design asbestos abatement projects.
· Coordinate asbestos abatement activities with the Design/Construction Coordinators, Architects, Engineers, Maintenance Department personnel, school principals and other M-DCPS personnel, for projects associated with the capital outlay program, Job Order Contracts (JOC), and maintenance operations.
· Review MDCPS renovation projects at each phase for compliance with Federal, State and local asbestos abatement procedures and industry standard techniques and systems.
· Prepare contract documents, technical reports, records, and other documentation. Assist in the preparation of term bid packages for asbestos abatement.
· Coordinate asbestos abatement bid packages, addendums and change orders with contract Administration and Procurement Management personnel.
· Represent the Department of Environmental Management at pre-dib conferences for projects affecting asbestos materials.
· Oversee Prime compliance to subcontractors in all aspects of the project.
· Perform other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.
