Job Description

Job Summary: This is a supervisory position designed to support and influence operations effectiveness and the smooth process and materials flow through the DC. This is a fluid leadership position capable of and responsible for effectively managing the operations and direct reports through any department or area of assignment. Responsible for leadership coverage during training, PTO or business needs for any assigned area or department within the operations. Maintains constant communication and visibility with other operation supervisors, employees, management and other departments as needed.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and department goals are met daily.
  • Maintain and enforce operational, personnel, health and safety policies and procedures in place.
  • Conducts daily and weekly meetings with assigned area or department to review issues and requirements.
  • Maintains constant communication in-person, by email and/or phone with warehouse employees, DC manager, human resources, other company departments, customers, suppliers, and transportation companies.
  • Ensure team members understand their duties and responsibilities and ensure that employees perform their job as requested and in a timely manner.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in systems, processes and procedures to industry best practices.
  • Enforces the OSHA/DOT safety regulations for business.
  • Assists any other departments and performs any other duties as requested.
  • Be a value added to the operations team and contribute through cross department resource allocations to achieve common companywide goals.
  • Drive adherence to strict operational guidelines for facility and equipment maintenance and organization.
  • Collaborates with DC Operations leadership to effectively guide the day-to-day tactics to achieve benchmarks


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Appropriately enforce health, safety and every company’s rules or policies; Immediately address them on the spot while they walk the floor.
  • Effectively delegate and assign tasks, be detached from the day-to-day process and be a visible leader in the DC floor.
  • Lead daily huddles and communication meetings to cover KPI’s and dept needs. (productivity, quality, safety, attendance, housekeeping, company news etc.)
  • Effectively approve and submit weekly timecards and PTO requests for direct reports based on business needs.
  • Consistently conduct weekly and monthly coaching sessions 1-1 with direct reports, assess/address and coach to breach any productivity, quality, safety, attendance, housekeeping, or performance gaps.
  • Establish a culture of COLABORATION, RESPECT, DICIPLINE AND ACCOUNTABILITY by providing positive reinforcement and addressing performance, quality, productivity, safety, attendance, conduct and behavior gaps through the DC timely.
  • Accountability for dept and facility KPI’s
  • Train new associates for success in processes, quality, productivity, attendance, safety, housekeeping and any operational needs.
  • Take an active role on continuous improvement initiatives, waste walks and projects.
  • Assume Ownership and maintain the SOP’s related to their dept and processes.
  • Propose process improvements when/where they see the opportunity.
  • Take an active role in the interviewing and hiring process.
  • Hold weekly 1-1 with their managers to strategize and manage KPI’s
  • Leads by example, be a servant leader that leads with integrity. (Do the right thing even when no one is watching)
  • Capable of positively influence overall employee morale; prioritize the growth and well-being of the team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • 3 years of applicable experience in lieu of college degree.
  • 2 years of direct personnel management.
  • Lean Six Sigma, Kanban, Agile or any process improvement exposure Highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF Scanner.
  • Organizing, planning, and multi-tasking skills required
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of all Microsoft office products, including MS word, Outlook, and advance proficiency on MS Excel.

Work Environment: Work environment will be in Indoor and outdoor temperatures and depending on weather, may be cold, hot, humid, wet, etc.
