The International College of Health Sciences (ICHS) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Financial Support Specialist to provide administrative and financial assistance within the Student Support Center. This position is essential for delivering timely and accurate financial services to prospective, current, and former students, supporting the college’s commitment to operational excellence and student success. Located in the Boynton Beach, Florida area, ICHS dedicates itself to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment to advance healthcare education.


Purpose

The Financial Support Specialist supports the Student Support Center by maintaining precise financial records, responding to financial service inquiries, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures related to student finance management. The role fosters strong communication channels and contributes to a seamless student financial experience.


Responsibilities

Financial Aid Assessment & Processing

  • Review, evaluate, and process applications for financial assistance, including federal, state, and institutional aid programs
  • Determine student eligibility, apply awards, monitor continuing eligibility, and communicate outcomes in accordance with applicable guidelines
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all financial aid regulations, including Title IV, state, and institutional policies

Student Advising & Support

  • Provide one-on-one counseling to prospective, current, and former students to answer questions about aid eligibility, required documentation, and funding options
  • Advise students on alternative financial strategies when traditional aid may not be available
  • Guide students through appeals, special circumstance reviews, and satisfactory academic progress requirements.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all awarding and disbursement activities are compliant with federal, state, and institutional regulations
  • Collect, verify, and maintain supporting documentation for all aid applications
  • Assist with audit preparation and participate in regular reviews of compliance-related activities

Data & Record Management

  • Accurately input and update student demographic and financial data in the student information system (e.g., CampusCafe)
  • Reconcile financial aid funds, monitor account balances, and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closeout processes
  • Prepare and maintain detailed departmental reports, statistical data, and required regulatory submissions

Customer Service & Communication

  • Serve as a point of contact for student financial aid questions via in-person, phone, email, and online channels
  • Respond promptly to student and staff inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure consistent delivery of accurate information
  • Prepare, review, and distribute communications regarding aid status, disbursements, and upcoming deadlines

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Knowledge


High School Diploma or GED required; at least 5 years’ experience directly related to stated responsibilities is preferred.


Required Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with a diverse community
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and financial/student software applications
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, make sound evaluative judgments, and investigate and interpret relevant information
  • Excellent interviewing and counseling abilities, with demonstrated capacity to communicate complex information clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing confidential records, data entry, and reporting
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be within commuting distance to Boynton Beach, FL

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Account field
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly

Additional Requirements

  • Must reside within commuting distance of Boynton Beach, FL
  • This is not a remote position
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as needed
