Job Description
A successful wholesale distributor that specializes in supplying retailers discounted excess inventory and overstock from product manufacturers are looking to hire a Sales Marketing Assistant.
Position
To support the growth and productivity of the Buying and Sales teams as an assistant with a focus on technology, legal, and marketing functions. This role offers the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up with room for advancement.
- Reports to: Chief Development Officer
- Works with: Vice President of Sales & Vice President of Purchasing
- Collaborates with: Finance & Logistics
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items
- Utilize AI tools to support the team and generate content
- Generate and maintain reports focused on team accountability and opportunity tracking
- Assist in managing and creating content for company social media accounts
- Maintain legal files and assist with drafting standardized documents
- Support customer and supplier outreach and relationship management
- Manage calendars and assist with scheduling appointments
- Assist Sales and Purchasing teams with daily operations
- Create product “Availables” to support the Buying Team
- Facilitate smooth communication between Sales and Purchasing departments
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals
Minor Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer phones and file department paperwork
- Handle office supply orders and follow-up
- Maintain and track the Sample Request Log
- Coordinate expo and trade show travel for staff
- Track and replenish office supply inventory
- Support general administrative tasks and ensure follow-through
- Tech-savvy, with experience in (or willingness to learn) tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, AI platforms, Sugar CRM, and social media
- A doer—willing to jump in and help, no matter the task, and always ready to roll up your sleeves
- A shopper at heart who enjoys discovering trends and visiting stores like TJ Maxx or Five Below for comp shopping and product research
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Comfortable being outward-facing, engaging with both internal teams and external partners or vendors
- Willing and able to attend trade shows, meetings, and offsite events as needed
- Ideally, have experience in a legal or law office setting, though this is not required
- Not necessarily degree-holding—we care more about your skills, sharpness, and enthusiasm
- Intuitive, fast-learning, and excited to be part of a growing, positive, and upbeat team
