Job Duties:
The Human Resources Generalist is a human resources professional responsible for managing different HR functions including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, and acting as a liaison between employees and management.
Daily Operations
- Assist with development and review of jobs descriptions and career advertisements (print, internet, etc.) including posting all job openings.
- Responsible for pre-screening resumes, passing on qualified applicants to schools
- Maintain a weekly open positions list and distributes to schools
- Assist HR in the daily operation and administration of the department
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws concerning recruitment and hiring
- Outstanding written, verbal and public presentation skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and the schools
- Must be computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft XP (word and Excel) and previous HRIS experience
- Manage all teacher certifications for all schools
- Create offer letters according to each district salary scale.
Additional Responsibilities:
Work independently and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines; understand and implement administrative policies and procedures; conduct administrative research and analysis; collect, evaluate and interpret varied data, evaluate alternatives and reach sound conclusions; use word processing, graphics, spreadsheet and database programs to develop reports, databases and communications materials; compose correspondence; type at rate of 50 net words per minute from printed copy; coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Employees must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving of instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes and (b) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three to five years related experience.
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Organized, energetic, innovative and professional.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Solid US employment law knowledge an asset.
Physical Requirements:
On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen; intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk; perform simple grasping and fine manipulation; use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis
