Position Overview
The Senior Finance Manager will oversee the financial health of the organization by managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities. This role requires a strong blend of technical accounting expertise, leadership, and business acumen to ensure accurate financial management and provide strategic insights to guide decision-making. The Finance & Accounting Manager will supervise a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with cross-functional departments to support growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Develop financial dashboards and KPIs to support executive decision-making
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparation, consolidation, and presentation to senior leadership
- Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analyses, and provide actionable insights
- Build financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and cash flow scenarios
- Partner with department leaders to manage budgets and track financial performance against strategic goals
Compliance, Controls & Audit
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, tax filings, and internal financial policies
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes
- Stay current on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and finance staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure staff workload is balanced and aligned with organizational priorities
Business Partnering & Strategy
- Act as a financial advisor to senior management, providing insights on business performance, risks, and opportunities
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and other functions to align financial planning with business objectives
- Support strategic initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, and special projects
- Provide input on capital investments, pricing strategies, and vendor negotiations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting, and compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
