SYZYGY Global is a luxury outdoor living brand redefining the pergola experience. We are seeking a decisive, highly capable Chief Operating Officer (COO) to own the day-to-day execution of the business and turn strategy into reality. This role is not theoretical, corporate, or slow-moving. It is hands-on, high-accountability, and deeply operational.
As COO, you are responsible for the performance, alignment, and execution of the entire company. All department heads report to you. You will oversee operations, construction, people, processes, and profitability—ensuring SYZYGY runs efficiently, profitably, and to the standard of excellence our brand demands.
This role is for a proven operator who understands construction inside and out, thrives in fast-paced environments, and holds people accountable without ego. If you believe small, high-performing teams beat bloated org charts—and you know how to lead one—this role is for you.
What You’ll Own
Company Operations & Business Leadership
- Own the day-to-day operations of the entire business, ensuring all departments are aligned, accountable, and executing at a high level
- Translate executive vision into clear priorities, processes, and measurable outcomes
- Serve as the operational backbone of the company—nothing falls through the cracks on your watch
- Establish and enforce operational rhythms, KPIs, scorecards, and reporting across all departments
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks early—and fix them decisively
- Drive profitability, efficiency, and scalability while maintaining a premium customer experience
Construction & Project Operations (Core Competency)
- Own all construction operations, from pre-construction through final install and close-out
- Deep understanding of construction workflows, permitting, inspections, scheduling, materials, vendors, and field execution
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to SYZYGY’s luxury standards
- Oversee construction leadership, project management, field teams, and operational support
- Implement and enforce SOPs, quality control standards, and safety protocols
- Anticipate and solve construction challenges before they become client issues
This role requires real construction experience. You must understand the ins and outs—not just manage people who do.
Leadership, Accountability & Team Performance
- All department heads report directly to you
- Hold leaders and team members accountable to expectations, timelines, and results
- Set clear standards and address underperformance quickly and directly
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, and excellence—without micromanaging
- Coach leaders to think proactively, communicate clearly, and execute consistently
- No seat warmers. No silos. Everyone contributes.

Systems, Process & Scale
- Build and refine scalable systems without over-engineering
- Ensure processes are documented, followed, and continuously improved
- Leverage technology, dashboards, and automation to improve speed and clarity
- Partner with Finance to manage budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and margins
- Ensure compliance, risk management, and operational discipline across the business

What You Bring
- 10+ years of senior operational leadership experience, with significant construction industry experience
- Proven success running day-to-day operations for a growing business
- Deep understanding of construction operations, project execution, and operational finance
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to make hard decisions
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams with clear accountability
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and execution skills
- High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills
- Comfort wearing multiple hats in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Tech-savvy and systems-oriented (CRMs, project management tools, dashboards)

Position Details
- Full-Time, In-Office Only (Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Occasional nights and weekends required for events or special projects
- Salary: $150,000–$180,000/year based on experience + perks & benefits
