Florida Panhandle Area | 200+ Bed Acute Care Hospital

Salary: 105k to 125k a year

Position Summary

The Medical Surgical and Cardiac Care RN Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a 24 bed unit with an average daily census of 18.


This leader promotes high quality patient care, develops staff, ensures regulatory compliance, manages financial performance, and supports the hospital’s mission of excellence.


Key Responsibilities

• Improve departmental performance through quality initiatives and efficient resource use

• Develop systems that support smooth, safe patient flow across the continuum of care

• Build and support comprehensive education programs for staff and patients

• Collaborate closely with physicians to drive excellence in clinical practice

• Evaluate new technologies and service lines to support innovation

• Lead interdisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient outcomes

• Coordinate care conferences for high risk or medically complex cases

• Oversee IRB approved research projects

• Develop short and long term operational plans aligned with facility goals

• Manage daily operations, efficiency, compliance, and performance

• Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop departmental staff

• Ensure all hiring practices align with Affirmative Action and EEO guidelines

• Provide coaching, recognition, and corrective action when appropriate


Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of recent acute care RN leadership experience

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Active RN or APRN licensure

• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire

• Unit size: 24 beds
