HVAC VDC/BIM Manager
Location: West Palm Beach
Salary: $150k to $160k + Package
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled VDC/BIM HVAC Design Engineer to join our dynamic MEP design and construction team in West Palm Beach. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC system design, Revit modeling, and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) processes. You will play a key role in developing coordinated, constructible mechanical designs for commercial, healthcare, multifamily, and institutional projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed HVAC system models using Revit MEP and BIM coordination tools.
- Collaborate closely with architects, structural, plumbing, electrical, and construction teams to ensure fully coordinated BIM models.
- Prepare detailed HVAC designs, layouts, load calculations, and equipment selections.
- Support VDC workflows including clash detection, model validation, and constructability reviews using Navisworks or similar tools.
- Generate fabrication and installation drawings, schedules, and as-built documentation.
- Maintain BIM standards, templates, and best practices within the HVAC discipline.
- Participate in coordination meetings (virtual and on-site) with internal and external project teams.
- Assist in developing energy-efficient, cost-effective mechanical design solutions.
- Support field teams with model-based installation coordination and updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in HVAC design and BIM coordination for building projects.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 / ACC.
- Understanding of HVAC system design principles, load calculations, and code compliance (ASHRAE, SMACNA, Florida Building Code).
- Strong coordination and communication skills within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with construction coordination or design-build environments.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Dynamo, or Clash detection workflows.
- Knowledge of LEED, sustainable design, and energy modeling tools (e.g., TRACE 3D Plus, HAP).
- EIT certification or working toward PE licensure preferred.
- Experience working on healthcare or multifamily projects in Florida.
