POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Provider Operations Intern, you will support the Provider Relations team in building strong relationships with healthcare providers and gaining insight into the operations of a managed care organization. This hands-on internship is ideal for students pursuing a degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field who are interested in exploring a career in provider relations or health plan operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision and mentorship, the intern will:

Assist with communication efforts to educate physicians and their staff about key updates and initiatives.

Support resolution of basic provider inquiries and help document outcomes.

Participate in initiatives related to provider engagement, such as data accuracy and compliance tracking.

Help organize and attend provider office visits, virtual meetings, and educational sessions.

Shadow team members in monitoring provider performance metrics and help prepare summary reports.

Assist in planning and supporting Office Manager Meetings and related communications.

Help track provider participation and follow-up items using internal systems and Excel.

Learn about Medicaid and HMO plan network requirements through team-led training and observation.

Support recruitment outreach efforts and research prospective provider leads.

Gain exposure to claims processes, provider grievances, and the basics of network management.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field.

Strong interest in learning about managed care, provider networks, and healthcare operations.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare environment.

Reliable transportation is preferred (some travel may be involved depending on project needs).

Work Schedule:
Community Care Plan is currently following a hybrid work schedule. The company reserves the right to change the work schedules based on the company needs.
