Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: In Person
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and resilient Accounts Payable Clerk to join our fast-paced finance team. This role supports a diverse portfolio of businesses and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and maintain accuracy under pressure. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, flexible, and comfortable working independently in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process high-volume accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, verification, and entry in QuickBooks
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare and issue vendor payments accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain complete, organized, and accurate AP records and documentation
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to accounts payable
  • Prepare and submit required tax documentation, including 1099s
  • Respond professionally to vendor inquiries regarding payments and account status
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper approvals and coding
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities across multiple entities and deadlines

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar accounting role
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and general accounting systems
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and internal controls
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible, dependable, and resilient in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multiple companies or a diversified business portfolio
  • Payroll processing experience and familiarity with tax documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred, not required)
