The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement, storage, and distribution of aviation parts and components. This role ensures on-time delivery, compliance with industry regulations, and cost-effective transportation solutions. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, knowledge of logistics processes, and experience in supply chain management within the aviation industry. This role is based in Medley, Florida at our Landing Gear Service facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end shipment process for aviation parts, including scheduling and tracking deliveries to both domestic and international customers.
  • Ensure all customs, shipping, and receiving documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations.
  • Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and distribution teams to streamline transportation and optimize delivery performance.
  • Build relationships with freight carriers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to enhance service quality and reliability.
  • Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to align logistics operations with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aviation industry standards, including FAA, EASA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Analyze logistics workflows to identify inefficiencies, implement cost-saving measures, and enhance operational performance.
  • Negotiate shipping rates, contracts, and service agreements with logistics providers to secure favorable terms.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries regarding shipping, order statuses, and delivery schedules.
  • Proactively address and resolve logistics challenges to meet customer service expectations and maintain service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation, preferably in aviation or aerospace.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs requirements.
  • Proficiency in ERP and logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
