Role Summary:
We are seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to join our team. The Steward Supervisor will supervise, train, and inspect the performance of assigned Stewarding Staff, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel's standards while assisting where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.
This position is an A.M. position, and all candidates must be able to work weekends and holidays (open and flexible availability preferred). We have a full-time position available.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3years' experience in food service janitorial position.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment/machinery.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with management and co-workers to their understanding.
- Ability to provide legible communication and conduct basic arithmetic.
- Ability to communicate in a second language -- Creole or Spanish (desired)
- Certification in sanitation (desired)
Essential Skills:
- Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies, and procedures with assigned staff.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, delegate work.
- Ability to direct performance of assigned staff and follow up with corrections where needed.
- Ability to motivate assigned staff and maintain a cohesive team.
- Ability to ascertain staff training needs and provide such training.
- Ability to be a clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments.
- Ability to focus on attention to details.
- Ability to exert physical effort in transporting equipment and wares.
- Ability to withstand high temperatures, moisture, and noise levels in work area.
- Ability to operate designated machinery and remain alert while operating.
- Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.
- Ability to ensure security of storage room access and hotel property.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
