As a Tax Managing Director you'll work directly with individuals, small businesses, and corporations, delivering expert tax preparation and strategic financial advice. This is a client-facing role that requires a balance of technical accuracy, business acumen, and excellent communication.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, business, and corporate tax returns (federal, state, and local)
- Review clients books and records live and after the fact
- Review staff accountant work and provide feedback and training
- Provide proactive tax planning and compliance support
- Advise clients on financial decisions, entity structuring, and risk mitigation
- Analyze financial data and develop customized financial strategies
- Stay current with tax law changes and regulatory updates
- Support audits, respond to IRS notices, and represent clients when necessary
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality service
Qualifications
- Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent
- 10+ years of experience in tax preparation and financial advisory
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes and regulations
- Proficient in Thomson Reuters Products such as UltraTax, FileCabinet and Practice Management
- Knowledge of Quickbooks Desktop and Online
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
