ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 500 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Job Summary: This position performs administrative tasks requiring use of standard automated office systems, e.g., computers, telephones, facsimile machines, photocopiers, calculators.

The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.

  • Respond to a wide variety of inquiries from the general public about ChildNet programs and services. Provide resolution or direct inquiries to relevant department/person.
  • Greet visitors upon arrival to ChildNet and provide direction to their destination.
  • Receives and transfers all in-coming telephone calls, and route calls as necessary.
  • Sort and distribute all incoming mail. Coordinates express mail services for pickup, delivery, and invoicing.
  • Process correspondence and forms of a confidential or sensitive nature.
  • Assists department personnel with administrative support.
  • Helps maintain workplace security by checking and collecting badges as necessary and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Assist in defusing concerns and complaints, when necessary.
  • Perform computer related tasks using a variety of standard computer applications. Maintain order, appearance, and organization of reception area.
  • Respond timely to email and phone calls. Contact staff to maintain client files and provide necessary information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements:

Years of Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience performing General Clerical Support, Customer Service and Receptionist Duties required
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to make complex decisions and balance the needs of stakeholders involved.
  • Ability to be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Ability to manage execution and direct the work of others towards task completion.
  • Ability to provide high customer satisfaction with positive service delivery results.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
