We are a full service veterinary hospital dedicated to high quality medicine, looking for a conscientious, hard working team player to fill a full time position. Must be a self starter that can work independently and feel comfortable working with cats and dogs in a group dynamic since our hospital offers day care services, baths as well as boarding. Candidates must have an outgoing, cheerful personality and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while giving excellent customer service and patient care. Experience not required. Smoke free and drug free facility.
Responsibilities:
- Can provide compassionate care to patients and clients.
- Conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.
- Legibly keep accurate medical records in accordance hospital policy.
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Perform physical assessments; record observations legibly in files or computer.
- Effectively restrain pets even when large of difficult.
- Knows all common vaccines and vaccination protocols and can explain to clients.
- Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility, does not hesitate to clean or organize as part of a normal job duty.
- Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.
- Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients supporting hospital financial policies.
- Explain necessary follow up and homecare instructions.
- Properly care for all surgical materials and equipment; keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery.
- Set up clinical laboratory procedures such as fecal flotation exams, heartworm checks, skin scrapings, urinalysis, ear cytology and fungal cultures; maintains file of lab results and ensures that results are recorded in patient records.
- Assist in positioning for radiographs.
- Understands the use and care of IV pumps.
- Can admit patients following hospital policy and doctors written orders.
- Discharge patients based on the veterinarian’s orders, ensure that patients are well groomed and in medically appropriate state.
- Effectively and openly communicate with clients on a daily basis
- Performs other duties as assigned including assisting in other areas
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour

Experience:
- Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
