Director of Membership Recruitment and Retention

Job Description
The Director of Membership Recruitment and Retention is responsible primarily for selling, acquiring, and maintaining membership in the Florida East Coast Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. The position works with the Vice President of Member Services, staff, and member volunteers to coordinate and facilitate all chapter membership recruitment, new membership orientation and retention programs through planned, documented approaches. Outreach activities require significant local travel in the chapter region – Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, Martin, Indian River, Saint Lucie and Brevard Counties. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coordinating the Board Membership/Retention Committee, attendance at events, development and execution of proactive and responsive strategies to member requests/needs, attendance at events and overall implementation and maintenance of promotion, sales and marketing activities with excellence in customer service to members the primary goal.

Scope

1. Membership Recruitment (50%)

  • Develop, implement and manage membership Plan (covering recruitment, marketing and sales activities.)
  • Develop, implement and manage membership recruitment campaigns including but not limited to annual membership drives and related activities.
  • Regular, ongoing personal sales visits to prospective contractor members.
  • Respond to inquiries from as well as initiate contacts with future members.
  • Develop prospective referrals from both existing members and external sources.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate supply of promotional materials and information in support of recruitment/retention activities
  • Work effectively with Board members, chapter members, committees and others in recruitment and acquisition of future members.
  • Manage Beam Club recruitment recognition program
  • Work to expand and maintain appropriate social media (i.e., LinkedIn, others) for recruitment of future members and for chapter visibility.

2. Membership Retention (50%)

  • Develop, implement and manage membership retention plan
  • Develop, implement and maintain membership retention campaigns, including coordination of events, volunteers and staff training aimed at membership retention.
  • Coordinate and manage content of ongoing business development e-mails and related communications.
  • Work appropriately with members, committees and Board of Directors to achieve highest retention rate early in the year in line with budget and chapter retention goals.
  • Provide new member orientation and introduction activities including but not limited to initial communication, personal outreach and visits to member companies.
  • Management of new member resource guides, recognition plaques and other ABC-FEC materials/information as appropriate.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop effective, ongoing working relationships with construction companies including making presentations.
  • Provide/maintain membership/retention statistics, monthly sales/retention reports and other reports as directed.
  • Develop, manage and control assigned budgets to meet membership/retention goals.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Member Services, and President/CEO.
