Job Summary:
Front Office Reservation Agents are responsible for assisting potential guests during the booking process. Reservation Agents expertly answer guest inquiries in order to persuade them to book their stay at our hotel.
Responsibilities and Duties Include but Not Limited to the Following:
- Answers potential guest and travel agent inquiries about hotel availability, services, pricing and any other relevant information via telephone, email, extranet portals and others.
- Uses sales techniques to persuade the guests to book with our hotel.
- Makes and confirms reservations following established processes and standards.
- Establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation.
- Creates and updates room blocks for Group business.
- Maintain accurate records of room availability.
- Records guest requests, preferences, comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary.
- Create periodical reports for Revenue Management, Front Desk and Accounting.
- Meet agreed upon sales goals.
- Provides customer service support for guests pre-arrival, for example making changes to the reservations, updating their profile, making recommendations or arranging for future services.
- Maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and neatness of the work area.
- Knows all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of The Betsy accident prevention policies.
- Perform additional duties as determined by management.
Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Degree in hospitality management or related field desirable.
- Prior experience in a similar position is strongly desired.
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English. The ability to speak Spanish is desirable.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and precise.
- Professional and friendly attitude is required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask.
