Location: Jacksonville, FL 32202

Pay Rate: $41/hour

Type: Temp-to-Perm

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, funding preparation, reconciliations, and ensuring full compliance with all federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable working in complex, multi-state payroll environments.

Key Responsibilities

Process and manage all payroll activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Maintain payroll records and review payroll reports, making adjustments as needed
Govern all financial, tax, and payroll reporting, including federal and state filings and payments
Oversee audits related to payroll, salary changes, benefits, cost center updates, hires, and terminations
Respond to complex payroll inquiries requiring detailed investigation and policy interpretation
Partner with HRIM, Finance, and IT teams on system upgrades, enhancements, and implementations
Participate in HRIM system upgrades, patches, and testing; document and audit results for accuracy
Maintain up-to-date desk manuals, job aids, and training documentation
Support benefits administration processes, including eligibility, deductions, Open Enrollment audits, and reconciliation
Model ethical behavior and comply with organizational values, ethics, and information protection policies

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Advanced working knowledge of Oracle Fusion (payroll processing, reporting, troubleshooting)
Proven experience with ADP, including integrations and reconciliations
Extensive experience processing multi-state payroll and managing state/local tax compliance
Strong understanding of payroll system enhancements, automation, and process improvement
Working knowledge of employee benefits administration and payroll deductions
Advanced accounting and bookkeeping principles
Knowledge of federal and state laws related to payroll and benefits
Familiarity with IRS, DOL, SSA regulations, tax payments, and levies
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Workers’ Compensation and Leave Administration experience (preferred)
Knowledge of retirement plans such as 401(a), 457(b), and 401(k)
Certified Payroll Administrator or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

Experience & Education

5+ years of direct payroll experience and/or accounting-related experience
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
