What You’ll Do
Staff Accountant II, under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records in various areas, with a primary focus on all month/year-end closings and reconciliations. In addition, this position will also be reviewing banking activity, corporate invoices and assisting different departments with general accounting questions.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintaining and managing ledger accounts, processing complex transactions, and creating journal entries as needed.
· Involve in period end close procedures, including preparing accruals as necessary.
· Analyzing data, researching discrepancies, and responding to financial inquiries.
· Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, primarily with cash accounts.
· Assists in year-end financial audit.
· Reviews Accounts Payable invoices when needed for GL coding for Restaurant Support Center.
· Reviewing vendors with recurring invoices to validate they are being processed timely and identifies additional accruals if needed.
· Processes daily banking transactions, such as wires, ACH’s, online deposits.
· Reviews of daily bank reports and exceptions.
· Prepares daily banking deposits.
· Reviews the accounting department mail and distributes to the correct departments.
· Keeps all records updated, between the RSC and our third-party accounting group.
· Processing of company credit card statements.
· Assist restaurants and restaurant support center with w9 requests, gift certificate requests, and other requests as needed.
· Applies generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records.
What We’re Looking For
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to effectively plan, organize and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.
· Intermediate Microsoft Suite computer skills required. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
· A minimum of two (2) years’ experience preferred.
· Any equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
