Dispatcher
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our Bald Eagle towing and recovery team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional customer service for our clients, law enforcement partners, and drivers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong multitasking skills, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatch calls efficiently using Topps software to assign jobs to the appropriate driver based on location, truck type, and urgency.
- Manage and monitor calls from multiple sources, including law enforcement rotations, roadside assistance providers, and direct customer requests.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, customers, and law enforcement officers to ensure timely responses and accurate information.
- Maintain detailed and accurate call logs, driver notes, and updates within Towbook.
- Track job progress in real-time, updating customers or agencies as needed.
- Handle incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, providing courteous and efficient service.
- Coordinate with management on truck availability, special assignments, and driver scheduling.
- Assist with data entry, invoicing, and daily reconciliation of Towbook tickets.
- Support compliance with all police rotation and towing regulations.
- Provide general office support and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Work Environment:
- Full-time, on-site role in a professional office setting.
- May require occasional overtime during financial reporting periods.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or business needs.
This position requires a pre-employment background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Qualifications:
- Prior dispatching or impound experience in towing, transportation, or a similar fast-paced industry preferred.
- Experience using Towbook or similar dispatching software strongly preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and stay calm under pressure.
- Strong communication skills-both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills (email, typing, data entry) are required.
- Must be able to pass a background check due to law enforcement rotation requirements.
- Professional, dependable, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule availability is a plus (some nights, weekends, and holidays
