Air Export Agent
Location: Miami, FL
Compensation: $55,000–$65,000 base salary + performance bonus
About the Role
Our client are seeking an experienced Air Export Agent to join their international freight forwarding operation in Miami, FL. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented export professional with hands-on experience managing international air export shipments from booking through final departure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end air export shipments, including consolidation and direct shipments
- Coordinate with overseas agents, airlines, trucking providers, and warehouses
- Prepare, review, and issue export documentation (HAWB/MAWB, SLI, AES filings, invoices, packing lists, etc.)
- Book cargo with airlines and ensure timely space confirmation
- Track shipments and proactively communicate status updates to customers
- Ensure compliance with TSA, AES, and all export regulations
- Resolve shipment issues, delays, or documentation discrepancies
- Handle billing, cost validation, and file profitability
- Maintain accurate shipment records in the freight management system
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5+ years of experience in air export operations within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong knowledge of international air freight export procedures
- Experience with AES filings and TSA compliance
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office
