Position Summary:

The Donor Engagement Coordinator is responsible for assisting with various components of the Development team, including: donor stewardship; donor cultivation; annual giving; donor engagement plan, communication and activities; and event support to ensure the success of the organization's development goals.

Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship

  • Checks donations in receivables log weekly for accuracy and proper gift description and coding.
  • Works alongside Database Coordinator to ensure gifts and pledges are recorded in Charity Engine donor CRM.
  • Drafts and edits thank-you letters and acknowledgments to donors to ensure donors are thanked quickly and in a meaningful manner.
  • Works alongside VP of Development to coordinate stewardship efforts and develop appropriate stewardship plans for donors, including follow-up phone calls with donors to thank them, sending them additional information and setting up site visits with leadership and program staff as appropriate.
  • Works alongside VP of Development and Database Coordinator to implement and track a donor engagement plan for targeted donor groups using donor CRM automation and multi-channel communications.

Donor Cultivation

  • Analyzes existing donor history to identify opportunities to renew and upgrade giving and implement a sustainer donor model.
  • Works alongside VP of Development to assist with research for funding opportunities for new donors.
  • Facilitates donor engagement strategies such as in-person visits and recognition opportunities for targeted donors and donor groups.
  • Works alongside Events & Donor Relations Coordinator to manage donor affinity groups such as the Women’s Giving Collective and event committees responsible for revenue-generating activities.
  • Works alongside VP of Development to prepare donor pledges and gift agreements.
  • Works alongside VP of Development and Database Coordinator to track donor data and trends, to inform the organization’s annual development plan and donor tracking.

Special Events

  • Attends and supports special events across the Development department, with an emphasis on sponsor recognition and special event follow-up strategy.
  • Assists Development team with preparing for signature events, supporting committee meetings, soliciting auction items, and other assignments as needed to execute successful events.
  • Works alongside Events & Donor Relations Coordinator to ensure confirmed sponsors are invoiced and acknowledged in a timely manner.
  • Assists with any other related duties as necessary to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of the Development department and Easterseals South Florida.

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensures confidentiality with all information; as well as the security and safety of all documents/checks.
  • Ensures the safety of staff, volunteers, visitors and individuals receiving services at ESSF.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant work experience in a nonprofit, marketing or fundraising environment.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience with donor CRM software preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of donor services, tax receipt and acknowledgement production and process.
  • Excellent phone, written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding organization skills, including managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend events

Physical Demands:

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information of participants and staff
