Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Boca Raton, Florida. This role is essential to ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting general ledger accounting, and assisting with fund accounting for our diverse investment portfolios. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in public accounting and a keen interest in the private equity sector.
Responsibilities:
• Record and post journal entries for corporate and fund entities to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, such as cash, investments, intercompany balances, and accruals.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Monitor and record investment activities, including capital calls, distributions, and management fees.
• Support valuation processes for portfolio investments in collaboration with the investment team.
• Prepare quarterly investor statements and accompanying schedules.
• Track financial performance of portfolio companies and integrate data into fund reporting.
• Collaborate with auditors and tax advisors to support annual audits and compliance requirements.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a large public accounting firm.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with fund accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or NetSuite.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Active CPA license or CPA eligibility is preferred.
• Previous experience in private equity or alternative investment fund accounting is a plus.
