Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping Lead to oversee our shipping and logistics operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing warehouse distribution, inventory control, and shipping & receiving processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of logistics and materials handling. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team and improve operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and conduct regular stock audits to prevent discrepancies.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimize transportation routes and delivery schedules.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse operations, reduce errors, and enhance safety protocols.
- Oversee lifting tasks, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and safe materials handling practices.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on best practices in inventory management, shipping procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments using systems like AS400 or similar platforms for tracking and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or team management within a logistics or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse distribution, and materials handling techniques.
- Hands-on experience operating mechanical equipment safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, or other inventory control software.
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy lifting.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy setting.
