Job Summary:
The Sr. Operations Analyst is responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and supporting supply chain processes to ensure efficient procurement, inventory management, and logistics operations. This role involves data-driven decision-making to improve cost-efficiency, supplier performance, and service levels across the supply chain. This position monitors and analyzes commodities markets and overall economic conditions to anticipate cost and market volatility and negotiate and execute purchases at competitive prices. Responsibilities include support of the company’s quality and ISO programs through continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for quality, cost, delivery performance, and sustainability
- Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develops subject matter expertise across select commodities to be able to anticipate, diversify and manage cost and supply volatility, capacity constraints or other supply chain impacts.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key supply chain metrics.
- Orders and schedules materials to meet production requirements via MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) on a regular basis, driven by Sales and Operations forecasts
- Reviews inventory and material volumes, makes recommendations on safety stock levels, product exit strategies, and excess and obsolescence (E&O), in order to optimize cash flow, pricing and assurance of supply.
- Collaborate with internal departments to determine procurement needs.
- Supports development and implementation of plans to meet goals in supplier strategy, productivity/cost-reduction, lead-time reductions, consignment/Kanban implementation, and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
- Conduct root-cause analysis of supply disruptions or delays and propose mitigation strategies.
- Manages analytics for assigned materials, including budget and price variance forecasts, volume reconciliations and developing visibility to impact of changes in raw material requirements.
- Support quarterly business reviews with key suppliers in each commodity area; reviews supplier scorecards, documents, and follows through on mutually agreed targets and action items identified in quality audits, nonconformance, and other quality or delivery-related concerns.
- Coordinates with Materials Control and Finance teams on proper administration of GRN and invoice processes, including paperwork, order and inventory system updates, and resolving receiving and invoicing errors.
- Develops and maintains departmental procedures and work instructions and supports the company’s quality and ISO programs through continuous improvement, interdepartmental collaboration, and annual audit processes.
- Participate in risk assessments and cost reduction initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing prints as well as technical information/specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated analytical skills including data analysis, pivot tables, charts, and SQL (preferred).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in Business Administration, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related major field.
- 3-5 years of related supply chain analysis, procurement, or operations in an industrial or manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing processes including supplier selection techniques, request for quotes, supplier negotiation strategies, and sourcing decision-making.
- Working knowledge of an MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) system (Syspro preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with metals and plastics, and/or industrial/manufacturing markets.
- Experience with New Product Introduction Sourcing, as well as product exit strategies.
- Understanding financial principles, including cash flow, budgeting, inventory reserves, etc.
- Training or working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM) concepts.
- Purchasing / supply chain certification(s) from the American Purchasing Society, Institute for Supply Management, APICS (Advancing Productivity, Innovation and Competitive Success) or comparable certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- At times may need to work in an Industrial warehouse environment with varying work levels and uneven surface areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 25-35lbs at times.
- Normal auditory, visual acuity including depth perception and peripheral vision, ambulatory ability and dexterity
