The Impact You Will Make


The Staff Accountant supports the financial health of Everstory Partners by preparing and maintaining accurate journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with GAAP, meeting internal deadlines, and providing analytical insight that supports sound decision-making. You’ll play a key part in identifying and implementing process improvements while partnering with both field and corporate teams to resolve discrepancies. Your attention to detail and commitment to timely, accurate work will help maintain the integrity of our financial reporting and contribute to the overall success of our accounting operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record monthly journal entries, including but not limited to expense allocations and cash correcting entries, adhering to internal deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of the balance sheet accounts and investigating reconciling differences.
  • Review current processes to identify process improvements and suggestions of implementation strategies.
  • Prepare P&L account analytics as requested, and research identified anomalies and identify necessary correcting entries.
  • Reach out to field personnel to help in resolving reconciliation issues.
  • Assist in annual audit requests, as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate support for P&L account analyses and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Other projects and reconciliations as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Up to 3 years’ experience in general accounting or public accounting.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently without in-office oversight.
  • Must abide by all company policies and keep all sensitive information confidential.
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully across all levels of the organization along with strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
