Job Description
The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing warm, attentive, and efficient service to guests in the restaurant, bar, cafe and lounge areas. This role ensures a memorable dining experience by taking accurate orders, delivering food and beverages promptly, and anticipating guest needs, all while maintaining a polished and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner

Present menus, answer questions about food and beverage options, and make recommendations

Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system (Toast)
-
Serve food and drinks promptly and ensure accuracy of orders before delivery

Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and address additional requests
-
Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas in accordance with health and safety standards
-
Assist with table setup, side work, and closing duties as assigned

Handle guest transactions accurately, including cash, credit cards, and room charges
-
Communicate guest feedback, low stock items, or service issues to management promptly

Promote hotel services, daily specials, and featured menu items to enhance the guest experience
Must-Have Qualifications

Previous working experience as a server or in a food & beverage role

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities -
Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment

Basic math skills and POS system familiarity
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

ServSafe Food Handler certification
Physical Demands

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per workday)

Frequent exposure to hot beverages, food items, and kitchen equipment

Exposure to cleaning chemicals

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (e.g., supplies, equipment)

Work location: Onsite at The Garden Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Work environment: Food and Beverage outlets. Exposure to hot, cold, and/or humid environments.

Working schedule: Flexibility with work hours, including weekends and holidays is essential, as scheduling will depend on business needs. This position may require evening availability. Adaptability is key in a hospitality environment
