Gather, distribute, and facilitate the flow of materials between the warehouse and IMO by following work orders from the scheduling/planning department. Examine the manufacturing needs and move material based on manufacturing demands, including processing ERP assigning and returning transactions to properly track inventory throughout the IMO process. Assist in maintaining a constant workflow throughout the manufacturing floor.
Additionally, the expediter will perform inventory cycle counts within the IMO department and monitor stock inventory level for accuracy, escalate critical inventory shortages, implement, assign and return material and coordinate with external departments for movement of material while following established procedures and guidelines and maintaining compliance with FDA guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor and record stock inventory levels and report inventory variances.
• Work autonomously throughout the day with minimal supervision.
• Process and document required paperwork.
• Oversee warehouse and material movement process flow.
• Operate pallet jack to move material from warehouse, to and inside IMO department.
• Basic data entry into ERP system, assigning and returning material.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language and be understood.
• Must be a team player and work well in a team environment.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to understand warehouse and material movement process flow.
• Ability to operate pallet jack.
• Ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, escalate issues to IMO manager or designee.
• Exercise good judgement by making sound decisions and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Maintain attendance in good standing with a good attitude and positive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work experience with a medical device manufacturer.
• Experience working with an ERP system.
• Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP).
• Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation and can work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Injection molding and/or assembly operations knowledge.
Physical / Mental Demands:
● Job is performed indoors in a variety of settings including office, manufacturing/injection molding floor and warehouse with no abnormal hazards or risks. Protective safety clothing will be required including appropriate dress code: no makeup or jewelry, shoe coverings, gloves, hairnet, lab coat, etc., as needed.
● Physical activity includes walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders, and lifting up to 40 pounds or moving up to 100 pounds.
● Must be able to sit or stand throughout most of a shift with occasional walking.
● Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting.
● Work may require weekend and evening work
● Must be able to work under stress and in a fast-paced environment.
● Must be alert, able to concentrate, and use good judgment.
