Provider Operations Intern
About the Job:
As a Provider Operations Intern, you will help the Provider Operations team work with doctors and healthcare offices. You will learn how to support doctors, help with healthcare rules, and make sure things run smoothly. You can work up to 29 hours a week and help call doctors, keep records, and find ways to make things better.
What You Will Do:
- Help contact doctors and explain important rules and procedures.
- Help answer doctors' questions and fix problems.
- Keep track of how well doctors are following rules and goals.
- Help make learning materials for doctors to explain how things work.
- Collect and look at information about doctors' work to help them do better.
- Help plan meetings and training for doctors and office managers.
- Look up information about doctor networks and ways to make them better.
- Help work with hospitals and doctor groups to build good relationships.
- Help check doctor information and keep good notes for records.
- Look at payments and forms from doctors to make sure they are correct.
- Share ideas for how to make things work better.
- Learn about Medicaid and health insurance rules.
- Keep records of your work and calls with doctors.
- Help with other tasks to support the team.
Work Schedule & Travel:
- Work up to 29 hours a week.
- Mostly work from home, with some visits to doctor offices or meetings.
- Some travel may be needed for events and outreach.
What You Need:
- You must be a current Community Care Plan (CCP) Medicaid member.
- Be interested in healthcare and helping doctors and their offices.
- Be good at speaking and writing clearly.
- Be able to work alone and with a team.
- Know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools.
- Be good at solving problems.
- Pay attention to details and handle more than one task at a time.
Helpful Skills:
- Stay organized and manage your time well.
- Talk clearly with doctors and office staff.
- Be ready to learn and try new things.
- Understand some health care basics.
- Look at information and use it to make smart choices.
Physical Demands:
You will mostly sit and use a computer, but sometimes you might stand, walk, or move light things (up to 15 pounds).
Work Environment:
You will work at home, in an office, or travel to different places. The noise level is usually not too loud.
