Job Description

EHS Coordinator – Hands-On Leadership in Safety & Continuous Improvement

Location: Sumterville, FL
Schedule: (Mon–Fri, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Compensation: $80,000 – $94,000 annually

Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives in an industrial manufacturing environment? Do you believe that safety and process improvement go hand in hand? We’re looking for an EHS Specialist who isn’t just about policies and paperwork—but someone who rolls up their sleeves, works side-by-side with the team, and drives real, measurable improvements on the floor.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with plant leadership to lead and participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Be present on the floor—observing, coaching, and collaborating with team members to identify and resolve safety and process issues.
  • Lead onboarding and training efforts for employees and subcontractors, ensuring safety is embedded from day one.
  • Drive continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, and KPI tracking.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to ensure equipment and processes are safe and efficient.
  • Conduct inspections, analyze incidents, and implement corrective actions that make a real difference.
  • Support return-to-work programs and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A hands-on leader—not a desk-bound safety officer. You’ll be out in the plant, working with people, not just directing them.
  • Someone who understands the big picture of operations and how safety fits into productivity and quality.
  • A background in continuous improvement, with experience implementing 5S, Kaizen events, and using KPIs to drive change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills—you know how to influence, not just enforce.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial safety role.
  • A degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications like CSP, ASP, or GSP are a plus, but not required.

Why This Role?

This isn’t a corporate compliance role—it’s a boots-on-the-ground opportunity to make a real impact. You’ll be supported by a Director of EHS and a VP of Environmental at the corporate level, but your focus will be on working with the team, solving problems, and making the plant safer and more efficient every day.
