Accounts Payable Specialist – Fort Myers, FL

Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Pay Rate: $20-$23/hour

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a well-established construction company in Fort Myers. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor payments, reconciling accounts, and assisting with payroll support.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices in the accounting system
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
• Assist with payroll processing and related compliance tasks
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records, vendor files, and documentation

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of accounts payable experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Paylocity experience a plus)
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred, but not required
