Hanley Foundation, a West Palm Beach-based non-profit organization that aims to eliminate addiction through prevention, treatment, advocacy, and recovery support, seeks a Interfaith Chaplain to join our growing team at our state-of-the-art substance use/mental health treatment facility in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida.
The primary focus of the Chaplain is facilitating healing and wholeness in a 12-Step Model of care. Spiritual Care empowers patients, through 12-Step spiritual principles and other spiritual exercises, to tap into spiritual resources to promote peace of mind, to restore relationships, and to foster sobriety on the journey of recovery.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual care and guidance in context of 12 step principles to patients in residential treatment for SUD & MH
- Maintain integrity of Hanley 12-step structure and provide psychoeducation to patients, staff and the community on defining, developing and maintaining healthy spirituality.
- Individual spiritual care sessions.
- Spiritual care groups weekly.
- Support staff by providing positive encouragement and being a champion for maintaining a spirituality healthy organization.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Completed Master of Divinity or graduate student. Must have Bachelors.
- Qualified professional certification (CAC, CAP, MCAP, CRPS) preferred but not required.
- If in recovery, one (1) year of continuous sobriety is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Completion of seminary/equivalent training.
- Completion of at least one unit of CPE/equivalent.
- Thorough understanding of addiction and of the spiritual principles of the 12 Steps.
- The ability and desire to honor and dignify all people, and an identified sense of calling as a chaplain to minister unconditional love to all people without regard to religion or spiritual traditions
