We’re seeking a Senior Property Accountant / Assistant Controller with minimum of 3–5 years of real estate accounting experience - with a full knowledge of office and Industrial properties lease structure and accounting - to join our dynamic team. This is more than a traditional accounting role—it's a unique opportunity to step into a multifaceted position that touches accounting, finance, operations, and asset management.
You’ll work directly with our CFO and ownership team, playing a key role in the financial stewardship and strategic direction of our portfolio. If you enjoy digging into numbers, streamlining processes, and making an impact beyond the books, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle property accounting and financial reporting for both owned and third-party managed assets
- Review, reconcile, and validate financial reports from external property managers
- Handle monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including CAM reconciliations and expense tracking
- Perform general ledger management, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Interpret and apply lease terms, especially CAM and reimbursement structures
- Collaborate with property managers to oversee annual budget creation
- Conduct budget vs. actual and variance analysis across the portfolio
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and property-level financial modeling
- Support acquisition, underwriting, and due diligence processes
- Help prepare documentation and financial data for refinancing efforts
- Serve as the go-to contact for property-level accounting and finance matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of real estate property accounting experience (commercial/multitenant preferred)
- Strong knowledge of CAM reconciliations and triple net lease structures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with property management/accounting software is a plus
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Comfortable working in a small, agile team where responsibilities evolve
