Manager, Offshore Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Team
Position Summary
The RCM Manager (Offshore Operations) is responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and scaling the performance of an offshore revenue cycle team. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all RCM functions—including patient access, charge capture, coding, billing, AR follow up, and payment posting—while maintaining seamless alignment with onshore leadership and business objectives. The manager will drive operational excellence, monitor KPIs, implement process improvements, and foster a high performing, accountable team culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Manage daily operations of the offshore RCM team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Oversee and coordinate RCM functions such as:
- Eligibility & benefits verification
- Prior authorization
- Charge entry & coding review
- Claim submission
- AR follow-up & denial management
- Payment posting
- Patient collections
- Serve as the primary liaison between onshore leadership and offshore team leads.
Performance Management
- Monitor individual and team productivity, quality, and turnaround times.
- Track and report on KPIs, including collections, AR aging, denial rates, clean claim rate, and productivity metrics.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and skills development.
Process Improvement & Quality Assurance
- Identify workflow gaps and implement solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Standardize SOPs, work queues, reporting procedures, and training documentation.
- Drive automation and process optimization where appropriate.
- Oversee quality audits and ensure error rate targets are met or exceeded.
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain proactive communication with onshore leadership regarding performance, risks, and operational updates.
- Coordinate training, knowledge transfer, and system updates between onshore and offshore teams.
- Ensure culturally aware, clear communication practices across all regions and teams.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all staff follow HIPAA, payer guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Maintain data security protocols and enforce proper handling of PHI.
- Monitor offshore vendor compliance (if applicable), including SLAs, staffing levels, and contractual obligations.
Team Development & Engagement
- Recruit, train, and develop offshore RCM personnel.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
- Build succession planning, cross training, and career growth paths.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
3–5+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management.
2+ years of experience managing offshore teams or large distributed RCM teams.
Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare billing, payer rules, and RCM processes.
Proficiency with EHR/PM systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar.
Excellent analytical, communication, and process improvement skills.
Ability to work across time zones and manage remote/virtual teams effectively.
Preferred
Experience with RCM outsourcing or BPO environments.
Certifications such as CPC, CPB, or CRCR.
Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, or operational excellence methodologies.
