Direct Metals, Inc. is a rapidly growing company that is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist/Accounts Payable to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for our company and other tasks as directed. We will be cross training for all of the accounting department in order to facilitate department functions.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Assists with payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling Vendor invoices
- Manages vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying Federal ID numbers, preparing check remittance information, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
- Compute and record numerical data
- Check the accuracy of business transactions
- Daily filing and organizational tasks, including maintaining alphabetical filing for vendor files
- Perform data entry and various administrative duties
- Communication with all departments/locations to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors
Accounting Specialist
- Prepares documents for processing daily sales order invoicing
- Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
- Reconciles freight bills with Sales Order information and adjust as needed
- Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records
- Assisting the financial department, other assistants, and the accounting manager as needed
- Daily filing and organizational tasks, including maintaining alphabetical filing for customer files
- Performa data entry and various administrative duties
- Communication with all departments/locations to ensure timely and accurate billing of customers
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields required
- Experience with NetSuite and Microsoft Office highly preferred
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong organizational skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
