A high-profile, modern Japanese concept in Miami Beach is looking for its next Izakaya Chefa culinary leader who thrives on the fire, the finesse, and the fast pace of a real izakaya-style kitchen. What Youll Own
- Running the kitchen like its your dojoclean, disciplined, and alive
- Designing and plating seasonally driven small plates rooted in Japanese tradition
- Commanding a yakitori and robata station using binchotan with precision
- Collaborating with front-of-house on sake-forward pairing experiences
- Training and mentoring your brigade while managing prep, mise en place, and daily ordering
- Upholding high standards for food safety and sanitation
The Skills Were After
- 5+ years in a serious Japanese kitchenizakaya, kaiseki, omakase, or fine dining
- Strong knife skills and fish butchery
- Mastery of traditional cooking techniques (nimono, agemono, yakimono)
- Hands-on experience with binchotan and charcoal grilling
- A deep understanding of seasonality and Japanese ingredients
- Fluent in English and Japanese
Bonus Points If Youve:
- Trained in Japan or under a Japanese master chef
- Worked in Michelin-starred or high-end kitchens
- Built and led disciplined, high-performing teams
- Strong knowledge of sake, shochu, and pairing logic
