Position Summary
The Director of Operations serves as the CEO/Founder’s primary execution partner and owns the company’s end-to-end operational strategy. This role is responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling operational systems across manufacturing, supply chain, technology, external partners, and customer experience while ensuring efficiency, quality, and profitability.
This position blends hands-on leadership with long-term strategic planning and is critical to enabling sustainable growth in a founder-led, high-growth organization.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Manufacturing Leadership
- Own and lead all operational functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, inventory management, fulfillment, vendor management, and customer operations
- Partner closely with the CEO on operational strategy, capacity planning, and growth initiatives
- Ensure operational readiness, scalability, and quality as the business grows
- Oversee production workflows, materials planning, and delivery timelines to meet demand and service expectations
Financial & Business Partnership
- Work closely with the fractional CFO/Controller on budgeting, P&L management, forecasting, and margin improvement
- Translate financial objectives into operational execution, KPIs, and accountability frameworks
- Drive cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and performance tracking across operations
- Provide operational insights and reporting to support executive decision-making
Technology & Systems Oversight
- Oversee and partner with the Managed Services Provider (MSP) on technology strategy, systems optimization, and scalability initiatives
- Ensure operational systems support reporting, efficiency, data visibility, and future growth
- Lead system enhancements and process automation to improve operational performance
Marketing, PR & External Partner Alignment
- Serve as the operational liaison to external PR, branding, and social media agencies
- Ensure operational alignment with marketing campaigns, product launches, and sales initiatives
- Align inventory, fulfillment, and customer support readiness with demand generation efforts
People, Administrative & Customer Experience Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction to the Administrative Assistant, delegating tasks and setting priorities
- Establish scalable administrative, operational, and customer service processes
- Serve as the senior escalation point for customer service issues, ensuring resolutions align with brand standards and customer experience expectations
Process Improvement & Scale Infrastructure
- Build, implement, and maintain SOPs, KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting
- Hire, develop, and lead future operations, support, and administrative team members
- Act as the internal integrator, aligning product, finance, marketing, and leadership functions
- Design scalable infrastructure to support new products, increased order volume, and organizational growth
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 8 - 12+ years of progressive operations leadership experience
- Proven experience scaling physical product, manufacturing, or supply chain-driven businesses
- Strong financial acumen with experience partnering with fractional or outsourced finance teams
- Demonstrated success operating in a founder-led, high-growth environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred
- Experience in wellness, consumer products, hardware, or regulated product environments
- Exposure to ERP systems, inventory management platforms, and operational reporting tools
- Background in building operational teams, infrastructure, and scalable processes
