Position Summary
The Linehaul Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating local linehaul operations throughout the South and Central Florida region. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient transportation of freight while leading and supporting professional CDL drivers. The ideal candidate has prior FedEx BC (Business Contact/Contracted Service Provider) experience, a strong understanding of DOT regulations, proven people-management skills, and a working mechanical background.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring availability 6 days per week with 24-hour on-call responsibility during those 6 days.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily linehaul operations across assigned South and Central Florida routes

Supervise, coach, and support CDL drivers to ensure safe, professional, and on-time performance

Ensure full compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety requirements, including:

Hours of Service (HOS)

Vehicle inspection and maintenance documentation

Coordinate route coverage, scheduling, and contingency planning for absences, breakdowns, or service disruptions

Serve as the primary point of contact for after-hours operational issues while on call

Monitor performance metrics such as on-time service, safety, utilization, and cost control

Conduct driver meetings, performance reviews, and corrective action when necessary

Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and operations leadership to maintain service standards

Support equipment readiness by identifying mechanical issues and coordinating repairs

Ensure a high level of professionalism and customer service across all linehaul operations
Required Qualifications

Prior FedEx BC / Contracted Service Provider experience (strongly preferred)

Valid CDL (Class A) license

Solid working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations

Proven experience managing and leading professional drivers

Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

Willingness and ability to work 6 days per week with 24-hour on-call responsibility during work days
Preferred Qualifications

Mechanical background or hands-on experience with tractor-trailer equipment

Experience managing linehaul or regional transportation operations

Familiarity with ELD systems, dispatch software, and safety reporting tools

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to be on-site as needed, including early mornings, evenings, and overnight hours

Ability to respond to emergencies and operational issues outside of normal business hours

Occasional lifting, walking yards, and entering/exiting equipment
