The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily, monthly, and annual activities of the finance department. The Sr. Accountant should possess analytical & problem solving skills, be detail oriented, have solid conceptual thinking, and must be able to apply these traits to large datasets.

Requirements
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complex vendor payment reconciliations, including required explanations to outside parties and resolutions
- Work with independent contractors to reconcile prepayments made, efforts towards refunds, and applications of payments towards services rendered
- Assist with month end closing activities: BS reconciliations and corrections
- Full cycle AP functions: obtaining approval, recording, expense analysis, payment processing, and vendor management
- Doctor related A/P reconciliation and payment issuance based on terms
- Reviewing unpaid bills, unapplied credits, and outstanding uncashed checks from prior periods
- AP email management includes: current invoicing, research on past payments, discrepancies, or open invoices
- Intra-departmental cross training & support:
- Full cycle A/R: billing, revenue upload, payment application/deposits, collections
- Full cycle A/P: recording credit card expenses & corporate payables: coding & uploads, revenue offsetting payables, and issuing payments
- Other duties & special projects, as assigned and based on business needs.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Accounting is required
- 3-5 years of experience in a professional accounting position
JOB RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
- Staff/ Senior Accountant or Senior Accountant experience required
- Experience with large ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage) preferred
- Healthcare and/or health insurance accounting background preferred
