Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist

Overview

The Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist plays a key role in attracting, hiring, and integrating talented employees across the organization. This position ensures the company is staffed with qualified, dependable, and motivated team members who are fully prepared to deliver safe and high-quality service.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and able to manage the complete recruitment and onboarding process—from job postings and screening to orientation, training, and ongoing new-hire support.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Partner with Operations to determine staffing needs across multiple accounts.
  • Post job openings on online platforms, community boards, and local recruitment channels.
  • Review applications, conduct phone and in-person interviews, and recommend qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate background checks, references, and pre-employment screenings.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of reliable candidates to support continuous hiring needs.
  • Track job openings, candidate progress, and hiring metrics using WorkWave or similar systems.

Onboarding

  • Lead new-hire orientation sessions, covering company policies, culture, expectations, and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all onboarding paperwork (I-9s, tax forms, compliance documents).
  • Provide access to required training certifications, including cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety standards (OSHA, PPE, chemical handling, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Operations Managers to arrange site-specific training for new hires.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees throughout their first 90 days, ensuring a smooth transition.

Employee Support & Retention

  • Promote a positive and welcoming onboarding experience to support employee engagement and long-term retention.
  • Track probationary periods and follow up with supervisors regarding new-hire performance.
  • Gather feedback from new employees to help identify retention opportunities and improve onboarding processes.
