Job Description for Second Housekeeper

Desired Qualities: Detailed Self-Starter with Laundry Experience, a Clean Driving Record, and a Positive Attitude

Main responsibilities will be laundry, cars, the exterior cleaning, and helping inside, as needed. Work as a team with the Head Housekeeper to adjust daily duties so that the house is left every day to the owners’ standards.

Hours: Monday – Friday

Laundry:

· Owners’ Personal Clothing:

o Stain treated, washed per care Instructions, and pressed daily

o Dry Cleaning – To be sent out, records kept of items in and out, and check for damage at pick-up

o Bedding: Sheets are changed twice a week, two people should make the bed, bedding is washed and pressed

o Kitchen: Tea towels and aprons

o Cleaning Rags: Cleaned and distributed back into appropriate cleaning supply stations

o Laundry Room: Keeping the Laundry room area impeccably clean:

§ Floors and surfaces cleaned daily

§ Washers and dryers cleaned and wiped down

§ Cabinet Faces kept clear of fingerprints, smudges, and dirt,

§ stocking of laundry supplies

Cars:

· Keeping cars in perfect condition for the owner’s use

· Coordination of car cleaning with the automobile detailer

· Coordinating with other staff – cars in for servicing and repairs

· Cleaning of garage floors

· Maintaining a clean garage

o Window seals

o Doors

o Storage cabinets

o Etc.

Exterior Cleaning:

· Putting garbage out for service on Mondays and Thursdays

· Uncovering and covering exterior furniture, as needed

· Maintenance of exterior furniture every day, if necessary

· Cleaning of doors thresholds as needed

· Maintaining clean walkways

· Cleaning of the mailbox

· Daily retrieval of mail and packages

· Maintaining contractor’s toilet

Interior Cleaning:

· Working with the Lead Housekeeper to keep the interior of the house clean to the highest standard

Duties May Include:

· Vacuuming and cleaning of delicate floors and carpets per instructions to maintain them without damage

· Polishing of silver, frames, and bathroom hardware

· Stocking paper and cleaning products

· Stocking water in refrigerator

· Dusting

· Detailing, as needed

· Helping clean all interior areas, as needed

· While washing or drying clothing, always find something else to do around the house, including assisting the Head Housekeeper
