Job Summary
The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on company and customer aircraft. This role ensures aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and MHD-Rockland Services standards. The position supports the readiness and safety of P-3 aircraft at our Keystone Heights facility.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframe, powerplant, and associated aircraft systems.
- Ensure that all maintenance functions are conducted in accordance with the FAA Approved Aircraft Inspection Program (AIP) and appropriate maintenance manuals.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives in compliance with FAA, OEM, and AIP standards.
- Document all work performed in maintenance records, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all defects, repairs, and modifications have been recorded on Task Cards within WinAir Work Orders.
- Remove and replace defective parts using appropriate tools, test equipment, and manufacturer manuals.
- Perform functional and operational checks on repaired components and systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the inspector and quality assurance personnel to ensure standards are met.
- Must maintain a current passport with at least one year until expiration date.
- Must maintain a current driver's license.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems, structures, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and aircraft ground support equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently or within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and industry safety practices.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an FAA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Technician program required.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and repair.
- Experience with military aircraft, particularly P-3 platforms, highly desirable.
Work Environment
- Work performed in hangar, repair station, and ramp environments with exposure to weather and aviation-related hazards.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated platforms.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to company safety policies required.
- On-site in Keystone, FL
